Youssou N’Dour Voice Of Africa

This in-depth biography of the life and music of Youssou Ndour is set within the rural landscapes and capital city of Senegal.
Dakar plays a central role in this one hour BBC documentary about a unique and remarkable singer/composer. His voice and lyrics, rooted in the culture of his country, have travelled the world, making him Africa’s most famous musician. We trace his career, talking to musicians, family and friends, using images of Senegal – traditional and modern – to tell our story; from his childhood to the Super Etoile band of Dakar, to his international acclaim and charitable tours, to his political concerns and, above all, his love of music, his home city and his country.
